SUMMARY:WBA Plant Optimisation Training
DESCRIPTION:Plant Optimisation Training\, Tuesday 28th June 2022 \nOnline: Zoom \n9:30AM – 4:30PM (UK time) \nGet the best from your AD plant\, improve process performance and minimise problems. \nIt is aimed at anyone interested in improving their knowledge and understanding of the AD process\, in order to increase output and process stability. \nDelivered by Angela Cronje\, a Chemical Engineer with over 15 years experience in the organic waste management and AD sector\, this training will help you optimise the output of your AD plant. It addresses the biological processes at the heart of AD: how to monitor activity\, recognise trends\, understand the operations; how to influence the biology to resolve issues and optimise output. \nThe day starts with an overview of optimisation\, and how ‘optimisation’ is different to ‘maximisation’. It goes on to consider a range of factors affecting the biology of AD and how to ensure a healthy plant\, with appropriate real-life examples using case studies from the UK. \nIt consists of: \nIntroduction to AD and the biology basics\nMonitoring biological health and efficiency\nAD Process metrics and performance indicators\nTroubleshooting instability\nAD Plant design for process stability – an overview” \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:ADBA Temperatures & Biology Training 11 May 2022
DESCRIPTION:  \nThis training is about the effect of increasing temperatures on biological health and gas production. In the UK\, AD plants are typically built with lots of insulation to keep substrate warm even in cold winter temperatures but this can contribute to increasing tank temperatures and biological risks in the hotter summer months. Operators will gain a better understanding of how temperatures can start to rise\, what this means for biological health and gas production and what control measures should be considered to mitigate the risk of serious biological failures. The training is delivered by Angela Cronjé\, a chemical engineer with 15 years experience in organic waste processing on operational plants. \n  \nAgenda \n\nWelcome and introductions\nHeatwaves and AD\n\nHow does a digester over-heat?\nCase studies\nImportance of data collection and interpretation\n\n\nRising temperatures and biology\n\nWhat are the ‘normal’ operating temps and why?\nThe effect of increasing temperatures on digester biology\nThe effect on gas production and composition\nCase studies\n\n\n\n\nDigester temperature and ammonia\n\nThe risks of a high ammonia diet\nAmmonia chemistry and inhibition\nThe effect of increased temperature on digester ammonia\nCase Studies\n\n\n\n\nControl measures\n\nPlant design\nTank cooling circuits and external chilling options\nDiet planning\nFailed biology recovery\n\n\nQ+A/ open discussion\n\n  \nADBA is the UK Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association. \nTHIS EVENT IS DELIVERED ONLINE. The agenda will include regular\, short comfort breaks. \nTo pay by invoice or over the phone\, please contact Angela Knight\, Finance Assistant at ADBA at angela.knight@adbioresources.org and +44 (0) 20 3960 0782 \nFor other questions\, contact Cheryl Murdoch\, Senior Event Manager at ADBA\, at cheryl.murdoch@adbioresources.org

SUMMARY:Plant Optimisation Training 29th September 2021
DESCRIPTION:The training is delivered by Angela Cronjé\, a chemical engineer with 15 years experience in organic waste processing on operational plants. \n\nThe course will address the mechanical and biological processes within an AD plant: how to monitor\, assess and optimise performance. SUMMARY:ADBA Temperatures & Biology Training 14th July 2021
SUMMARY:The World Biogas Summit 2021 | 6th-8th July | Virtual
DESCRIPTION:Spearheading the transition to net zero\nIt’s all about the methane – organic wastes\, recovery and recycling\n\n\n\n\nHumans directly or indirectly generate over 105 billion tonnes of organic wastes globally each year\, all of which release harmful methane and other greenhouse gas emissions directly into the atmosphere as they decompose. \nThese organic wastes include food waste\, sewage and garden wastes\, food and drink processing wastes\, and farm and agricultural wastes. Today only 2% of these are treated and recycled. \nOver the first decade in the atmosphere one tonne of methane is the equivalent of 86 tonnes of CO2. If we do not cut methane emissions from organic wastes immediately\, then climate catastrophe is unavoidable. \n\n\nBy managing all organic waste as important bioresources through anaerobic digestion and the generation of biogas we can cut global GHG emissions by 10% by 2030\, starting now. Untreated organic wastes are a problem. Anaerobic digestion not only solves this problem\, but also delivers the greatest value from these bioresources. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nClick here to check the programme \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets include: \n\nAccess to all three days of the live event\nAccess to networking\nWBA member ticket holders will receive access to the video recordings and PowerPoint presentations after the event\, free of charge\n\nContent Upgrade \n\nYou must purchase an event ticket to access the content package upgrade. SUMMARY:WBA Country Profile: Ireland
DESCRIPTION:The Irish government has set a target of 1.6 TWh of biomethane produced per year by 2030 – this will require an industry capacity of 200 MW compared to ± 30-31 MW in capacity available today. Join us as we discuss the opportunities and challenges of scaling up biogas.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt our online meeting\, we will launch the World Biogas Association’s market report on Ireland. WBA invites the industry to come together to watch presentations\, discuss questions and network with each other via video-link.\n  \n\n\n\nAgenda (all times in BST): \n10h00 to 10h10 – Welcome and face-to-face networking \n10h10 to 10h30 – Launch of WBA’s Market Report on Ireland: Leanne Williams\, Policy and Market Analyst\, World Biogas Association \n10h30 to 10h40 – Questions-and-Answers \n10h40 to 11h00 – Face-to-face networking \n11h00 – Meeting closes \n  \n\n\n\nNote: After the meeting\, delegates will receive the Market Report file and the recording of the meeting. \n  \nBackground: \nIreland had pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020 (from 2005 levels). This was one of the most ambitious targets across the EU\, however the country only reduced its emissions by 2 – 4%. Eoman Ryan TD is the Minister for Transport\, Environment\, Climate and Communication Networks. He announced new targets to reduce emissions by 7% per annum. Agriculture is an important sector — in 2019\, 35.3% of emissions came from agriculture alone\, and the decarbonisation of this industry will be essential for Ireland to achieve its GHG emissions reduction targets. \n  \nWhy attend: \n\nGather industry intelligence if you are considering entering the Irish market\nStay up to date if you already operate in the Irish market\nLearn from case studies and examples of trends that you can apply to your own markets\nNetwork with the industry and stakeholders\n\n  \nWBA will e-mail you the join-in instructions before the event.
